The Washington Post says that in some suburbs of Washington DC, "gas stations are going the way of the drive-in movie."

About a month ago - temporarily closed an unbranded station in Carbondale, Illinois (other end of the state) and it has not yet reopened. Over the past few months - also temporarily closed Marathon stations in the MSL along I-57 that look like they had been closed awhile - one in Gilman, Illinois and one in Ina (200 miles apart). I don't understand why because this station was busy all of the time and kept a BP up the street in line with pricing. Now the BP is running rampant with his prices with no competition nearby.
