I got a great deal I paid about what it was worth I got a lousy deal I'm not sure / no opinion I have never bought a vehicle Post your thoughts about this poll below.

It paid for itself in 6 months with the money I saved on gas. Gas was over $4.00 and I went from a 16mpg cherokee to a 32mpg sedan

It had a decent 300 cu in 6 cyl engine. I have become disappointed that it gets such poor gas mileage. I had previously driven a similar pickup (size of engine, though an F100.) On the previous vehicle, I got more near 18 to 20 mpg. This truck I'm lucky to get 12.5 mpg in mixed driving. In just city driving, I'm lucky to get 11.5 mpg. I've had to do a lot of major work to this rig (oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket x2, rebuild the front brakes (just two months or so ago), and several other items. Needless to say, I've wondered from time to time if I got a good deal or not. The price I paid for it, if memory serves me correctly, somewhere near $4600.

I paid what it was worth, so I feel I got a good deal. I have a seconde vehicle that would classify for the $4500 program so I am tempted to pick up a new car for the savings, but I don't need it. - Oh the dilemma of living in a disposable society.

I was very close to walking and they dropped the price an additional 500 to get me to stay. In the end it worked out well because 5 days later our Pontiac Van was diagnosed with GM V6 Intake Manifold disease, worn tie rods, and rotors thinner than spec, all of which I could verify (spend 2200 on van worth 3500? no) so we went back and bought a van which the dealer did give us a very good deal on and even $4000 trade-in.
